Over the years, we’ve worked across every corner of the healthcare system: research, commissioning, service delivery, marketing and scaling innovations. Along the way, we met some tremendous people. Mentors, peers, team members and managers who were sharp, kind, passionate, patient-focused and determined to make things better, even when the system made it hard.

We’ve built a place for them and called it the Ministry of Health Tech.
A welcoming space to connect, collaborate, and hopefully drive meaningful change. It’s powered by wonderful people and sprinkled with the odd bit of mischief.

Our Founders

Jimmy helps health tech entrepreneurs and startups go to market or get to the next stage of growth in the UK. Leading on strategy development and pragmatic execution, his 25+ year career spans NHS innovation, health tech SMEs and scaleups, sales, marketing and commercialisable product development. He is a former winner of the NHS Innovation Challenge Prize and an alumni of NHS England’s Innovation Accelerator Programme fellowship. When he’s off-duty, he can be found feeding chickens, playing a trumpet and speaking more northern - but not at the same time.

Damian has 25+ years’ experience in health care - from deep dives into research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, to commissioning and delivery at Optum, to the start-up hustle and scale-up chaos at Healthy.io. Damian loves a gnarly problems, marathon negotiations, and even longer chats. When he’s off-duty, he can be found punting Leigh-On-Sea’s finest rum like it’s a public health intervention or wondering how on earth he ended up with so much alpaca wool - he's open to reasonable offers on both.

Our “Cabinet” of ministers drive the Ministry of Health Tech’s agenda, build opportunities for others, help with networking and events, and represent the wider group of members who help us along the way.
